When large, well funded leaders in the industry advocates take in wild mustangs and burros which are victims of the BLM mass dumping - the rescue has an obligation.
The obligation is not to the immediate handful of animals saved on a single occasion.
The obligation is to work to end the practice of BLM mass dumping (sale-to-slaughter pipeline).
Rescues who WILL NOT DISCLOSE publicly the BLM identification (Freezemarks and or Microchips) of the BLM animals they intake are accountable for the continued thousands of animals who will perish because litigation is impeded by withholding the data needed.
The BLM has violated the Public Trust AND The Law
Ongoing litigation in multiple states is aimed at stopping the MASS DUMPING of Bureau of Land Management Wild Horses and Burros.
The litigation has every reasonable expectation of successfully challenging the BLM practice, establishing the understanding that the animals were placed in the 'American Public Trust' by the Free Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act. Public Law 95-195 of December 1971
